The Premium Sand Purging Rod Pump Gas Separator is similar in design to our Rod
Pump Gas Separator with an added feature that allows it to be installed in high
sediment wells.
In Rod Pumping wells, the function of the Premium Sand Purging Rod Pump Gas
Separator is to allow any sand or sediment that has accumulated in the separation
chamber to be periodically flushed.
The Premium Sand Purging Rod Pump Gas Separator can also be used in conjunction
with PC Pump Gas Separators in wells where large gas bubbles can cause PC Pumps to
burn. The Sand Purging Gas Separator will act as a reservoir of liquids to lubricate PC
Pumps allowing the large gas bubbles in the annulus to pass by.
When the PC Pump is stopped, back flow from the tubing will open the check valve in
the Sand Purging Gas Separator allowing sand and sediment to be flushed from the
separation chamber.
As with our Rod Pump Gas Separators, the Sand Purging Rod Pump Gas Separator is
also offered with a Stainless Steel Housing instead of regular steel. The Stainless Steel
housing offers extra protection in highly corrosive environments.
